Next Tuesday, August 15th, #ResistHere will be standing in solidarity with CASA and United We Dream as we fight to defend immigrants from Trump's deportation regime and protect two federal policies that keep families and communities together -- the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA) and a program called Temporary Protected Status (TPS).
August 15th marks 5 years since 800,000 immigrant youth have been able to get legal protection, go to college, and support their families because of DACA.
In addition, TPS provides sanctuary for 300,000 immigrants fleeing unsafe conditions in their home countries.
These programs ensure that immigrants in America can lead safe and happy lives free of fear, but right-wing Republicans and Donald Trump are threatening to destroy them -- putting the lives of over a million immigrants in danger.
Most Americans agree that DACA and TPS need to stay, but they don't know that these programs are about to expire.
We need to take to the streets to fight for these vital programs, defend immigrants, and stop the racist Right from breaking up families.
Raising your voice on Tuesday can inspire thousands to take action and pressure legislators to take steps to protect DACA and TPS.
